Synopsis (via UPtv)
Jacquie Miller is an interior designer desperate to catch a break. The city’s annual Festival of Trees decorating competition, known for putting local artists on the map, may be just the answer! But competing with the city’s top designers is not for the faint of heart. With the help of her quirky assistant, a charming stranger and an inspirational young girl, Jacquie embarks on a humor-filled and heart-warming journey to create a tree that will knock the stockings off Santa himself.

Recap/Wine Thoughts
Jacqueline Miller is an aspiring designer who lives in the shadow of a much more successful designer in town, Alice Stweart. Jaqueline meets with Lowery and Lowe in hopes they will be a sponsor for her designs for the Christmas Festival of Trees. Jacqueline wants to do classical elegance inspired by Louie the 14th. He doesn’t seem to go for it, but says he will be in touch.
At the Festival of Trees meeting, Heather, Jaqueline’s assistant, sits in Alice Stewart’s reserved seats, and her gay assistant tells them to leave. It is an assistant sass off! Jacqueline and Heather end up sitting in the back by the bathrooms.
Jacqueline runs into one of the gay assistants, Pheobe, who bullies Jacqueline and brags about getting their designs into the Festival of Trees and Lowery and Lowe as sponsors. Jacqueline is upset and approached by a handsome stranger at the worst time. She tells him off and then goes to her office to hide behind fluffy pillows. They do eventually get in.
Heather and Jacqueline go to pick out their tree and see the handsome man! His family owns the lot, and his name is BRANDON HOLIDAY!!!!! He has a lot of emotions about Christmas trees, and Jacqueline is unimpressed. They leave sans tree.
While at a hospital event, Jacqueline meets a precocious kid named Rachel, who is in the children’s ward due to a heart condition. The kid inspires Jacqueline’s Christmas tree design, and Jacqueline makes an ornament for her.
Jacqueline returns to the Christmas tree farm and flirts with the hot guy, who she hasn’t been able to get off her mind. They spend the day together, and Jacqueline makes fun of his name. She loves his Christmas spirit.
Back at the hospital, Jacqui is inspired by the other children in the ward, too. Jacqui gives Rachel the ornaments. She is surprised to learn Brandon is Rachel’s father. Brandon thanks Jacqui for the thoughtful gift.
We get our first decorating montage of the movie, and I have to appreciate the restraint it took the director to have at least five by this point in the movie.
Jacqui sees Alice Stewart’s design as a total rip-off of the idea Jacqui pitched to Lowery and Lowe. Assistant Heather is PISSED. She might pop off. Jacqui is unphased and unbothered. Alice says design is just setting trends and telling people what they want. Jacqui is seeing this differently now and wants her designs to mean something.
It is time for the Christmas Festival of Trees, and we get to see all the decorations! Fun! Jacqui and Brandon get all dressed up and are thrilled to see people oooing and awwwing at her design. Jacqui realizes that whoever wins her tree at auction will get all the children’s ornaments. She rushes off to find Heather and get the ornaments to the rightful owners.
Alice Stewart wins Most Elegant, and Jacqui wins the #1 tree and receives the highest bid at auction. She accepts the award and gives a speech as Alice Stewart storms off with her gay entourage. Jacqui thanks all the sick kids and shares the true meaning of Christmas. It isn’t the pretty ornaments; it is about the people who put them there. (awww.)
Jacqui gets a job at all the law offices for Lowery and Lowe. Heather gets a promotion, and the girls go out to celebrate. They hire two more assistants because they are in high demand.
Brandon helps Jacqui and Heather hand out the design sketches to the kids since they didn’t get their ornaments. Or did they? The hospital was the highest bidder, obviously. The kids are all cured of their illnesses, and Christmas is saved!
