A boutique owner facing eviction at Christmas gets the fashion assignment of a lifetime when she’s chosen to style a handsome celebrity who’s a playboy.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
The movie starts on a morning show: Good Morning, Atlanta! Tedee Maxwell (Mario) is an international pop star who will release an album on Christmas Eve. His song “Under the Mistletoe” is a hit, and he is a serial philanderer. (He sleeps with the host and, behind the scenes, thinks Christmas is corny. His PR rep decides he needs an innocent girlfriend for the holidays.)
A Seamstress and dress boutique owner named Taylor watches and swoons over Tedee. She has inherited her mother’s boutique, and clients aren’t impressed even though Taylor was named for the job! To add insult to injury, the landlord raises the rent (Oh damn, her name is Tiffany. Haha!) Tiff’s BFF, Ray’ah, gives a nice pump-up talk to her friend and encourages Tiff to stop running, which is the way her mama did, and to do her own thing. Trust herself.
The PR Lady is looking for a new business suit and needs some tailoring. She stops by Tiff’s store. She thinks Tiff would be the perfect sweetie to make Tedee look good for the holidays. PR Lady Sarah offers Tiff a job styling Tedee. When Tiff meets Tedee, she brings Ray’ah, who dresses up like she is in a music video. Tiff notices Tedee checking out Ray’ah. She feels surprised when PR Lady Sarah asks Tiffany back almost every day in December.
Tiffany starts working with Tedee. Her first day on the job involves getting measurements. He is shirtless and bulging in his sweatpants. (It was distracting, like. Good for you, Mario.) Tiff is the consummate professional and just takes the measurements. After that, they order takeout, because Tedee knows good food. He is even a fan of local Atlanta food. (Shrimp and Grits, with SUGAR. Crucial distinction.) Tiff and Tedee have a lot in common. They are both only children, grew up in ATL, and aspire to love greatly.
Tedee needs a last-minute date to an event, and Tiffany happily fills in and is even happier to hit the dance floor. They bust a most and do “The Santa Slide.” (It’s a holiday knockoff of The Cupid Shuffle.) Tiffany is having the best night ever until she meets Nicole, Tedee’s ex-girlfriend, whom he broke up with. Nicole is very jealous of Tiffany, and Tedee tells her not to worry because Tiffany isn’t his “type.”
Nicole tries to seduce Tedee by seductively licking a candy cane. (She has sexy theme music, so you know it is serious.) Nicole sees pictures of Tiff and Tedee on social media and takes drastic measures to get her man. Nicole shows up in a sexy Santa lingerie, and they totally hook up. Tedee tells Nicole about PR Lady Sarah’s plan. He promises to go public with their rekindled relationship once his album drops.
Tiffany helps Tedee decorate his house for Christmas, bringing him so much Christmas joy. He ditches Nicole for the press tour and stays in an Air BNB with Tiffany. They kiss under the mistletoe, and it seems like they are starting to have real feelings.
Some gays give Tiffany a makeover and take her photos, but it is a sabotage set up by a jealous Nicole. The images get out, and the world laughs at her. Tiffany is embarrassed and feels taken advantage of. Nicole remains jealous at a Fashion event. She jumps on the mic to reveal Tedee and PR Lady Sarah’s plan.
Tiffany cries on Ray’ah’s shoulder but picks herself up and posts on social media about how things have been rough. She explains that she was trying to keep her mother’s legacy alive. Her new following gives her the courage to keep dreaming. They feel happy to see the underdog standing up for herself. She hopes to inspire them to do the same.
PR Lady Sarah comes to Tiffany’s store to apologize. She tells her that she made a big mistake booking that photoshoot. She also acknowledges falling into Nicole’s trap. Sure, she planned for Tedee to use Tiffany for record sales and to clean up his image, but she feels like they are meant to be together! She asks Tiffany to give Tedee one more chance.
Tiffany does, and she sees Nicole making out with Tedee. He is in the process of breaking up with her and chases after Tiffany ALL THE WAY TO HER STORE!?!?! The video goes viral, and people start shopping at the store! It is enough to save the store.
All the hubbub is interrupted by Tedee singing “Silent Night,” acapella, while waltzing into the store. He tells Tiffany that she is his person. He promises to try to make her smile every day he is with her. Tiff isn’t sure she wants to commit to people who plan things behind her back. (VALID!) Tiffany asks him to sing his Christmas single to her; unfortunately, we have to hear it in full!

Do you know what I love about RAVEN GOODWIN? She is able to play broadly but also be totally relatable and down to earth. She is one of the best in the TV movie game.
