Synopsis (via Lifetime)

A dark family secret comes to light when a woman finds a bone marrow donor for her granddaughter. (2021)

Grace, who is blind and walks up a dangerous staircase, is thrown from a lighthouse by a man hidden in the shadows.

One year later, Anna has recently lost her father and inherited a lot of money. She quickly gets engaged against the wishes of her therapist/maybe guardian? Anna takes a ferry to an island to be with her new husband, Richard. People on the island seem to not think too highly of Richard. (He remarried Anna after his wife died suddenly.)

Anna is excited to start her life with Richard and moves into the lighthouse. The place is full of old pictures of Richard’s wife… Grace. Anna wants to move things around but isn’t allowed by the rigid housekeeper Mrs. Argyle. Anna is sure to let the housekeeper know that SHE is running things around the house now.

Alone in the sizeable 200-year-old lighthouse, Anna hears strange noises and drinks a glass of wine with tranquilizers. Then, she passes out for hours on end. Mrs. Argyle judges Anna for sleeping in and is the rudest housekeeper ever.

A priest stops by and talks with Anna about Richards’s thriller novels. Anna tries to get Father Samuel to share anything he knows about Richard and Grace. (Grace’s body has never been found, and she was blind from a desire.) Then she gives him some clothing of Grace’s to donate to charity. She invites the Reverand to dinner.

At Dinner, Father Samuel and his wife talk about the historic nature of the lighthouse. Anna comes downstairs unknowingly wearing some of Grace’s jewelry. Richard screams at Anna to take it off. Anna cries; Mrs. Argyle sets her up, but she denies any wrongdoing.

A woman named Beth is also sleeping with Richard. They are planning to kill Anna for the 2 million dollars. Beth is the one who killed Grace and buried the body.

Anna has suspicions that things are not right and wonders around the lake. She sees a woman on top of the lighthouse and rushes into Richards’s office to tell him. She finds the creepy stairwell and Richard’s manuscript for his most recent book. It features Grace’s death as a storyline. Richard denies Anna’s accusation.

Richard calls Anna’s therapist and tells him that she has an emotional breakdown. The therapist shares way more than he should. Anna’s parents died in a fire, and the state raised her. Anna was accused of the murder of her parents. Anna is not thrilled to see her therapist but shares her paranoia about the lighthouse and people on the island. The doctor puts her on anti-anxiety medication.

Anna is left in the house alone, again. Anna’s car breaks down, and she is given a ride by the town bartender, Carrie. In the middle of the night, Anna is roused by the tapping noise again. It is Richard’s with Grace’s. He tells Anna his plan to kill her and then punches her in the face and locks her in the tower.

Mrs. Argyle lets Anna out of the lighthouse. Anna attacks her like a caged animal. She kills Richard savagely with a candlestick and then goes after Beth. Anna is unhinged and murderous.

Carrie, the bartender, returns to the scene and finds the carnage. She places Anna back in the psych ward, where she belongs along with a ceramic horse. She goes all Norman Bates and says his infamous line “Why I wouldn’t hurt a fly.” (eyeroll)
