Synopsis (via Lifetime)

David Morales (Mario Lopez), an Arizona high school principal and single dad, has lost the holiday spirit after also losing his wife a few years ago during the Christmas season. Now, David will do anything to avoid Christmas, so he moonlights as a delivery driver during the holidays. But this year, David’s 14-year-old daughter, Noel (Paulina Chavez), and his live-in sister, Marissa (Marycarmen Lopez), are determined to bring the yuletide spirit back to the family and, with a little luck, also help David find love again via online dating. So when Sophie (AnnaLynne McCord), a witty musician and customer on David’s delivery route, swipes right on him, something magical happens between them.

Thoughts

David, a high school principal/widower, lives in a small town with his family. His sister Marissa lives with him and helps take care of his high school daughter Noel. David moonlights as a delivery driver during the holiday and wears a sexy ass uniform.

Across the street, Sophie comes home for the holidays to help her father for his first Christmas after her mother passed away. David drops out a package and flirts shamelessly with Sophie. David continues to deliver her boxes, and Sophie watches him walk in his uniform.

Marissa and Noel set up a dating app profile for David and talk about Christmas traditions.

David goes on his first date, and it is, of course, Sophie. We are an hour into the movie, and this should have happened MUCH sooner. On the date, Sophie reviles that she is a music expert and performs classical music in the philharmonic. They share their favorite Christmas songs and then walk around town. They agree that it is a practice date because they aren’t ready to date anyone for real. They agree to go on more practice dates.

Noel wants to sing in an acapella group or something. She gets into sing-offs on the street. When the gym coach fails at making a good choir director, David looks into what is going on in rehearsals. He recruits Sophie to coach the group.

Sophie bonds with the kids and then comes over and helps David and his family make tamales. David continues to date other people from the app, but no one measures up to Sophie. The only problem is Sophie is leaving town after the Christmas concert. David and Sophie go on one last Christmas walk through the woods. It snows, and they almost kiss until David realizes he is late for Noel’s Christmas show and forgets the gloves to play some bells.

At the concert, Sophie shows up with gloves and saves the day. They perform Feliz Navidad, and if you are hoping for Pitch Perfect here, you will be disappointed. More like Pitch Perfect 3. The movie falls apart from here. I think they sing Feliz Navidad at least two more times. Then my recording cut off. Then end?
