Event planner Amy (Argyris) helps rising singer Tiffanie Christmas (Epperson) plan her holiday family reunion. Along the way Amy must navigate some challenging family dynamics, especially among Tiffanie’s aunts as well as her own growing feelings for Tiffanie’s cousin, Calvin (Slater). Will she be able to pull off an amazing Christmas family reunion? Vanessa Williams, Wendy Raquel Robinson, and Catherine Haena Kim costar(2021)

Recap/Wine Thoughts

Amy is an event designer and is up for a big job for the Christmas family reunion. Her boss is designer Frankie Diaz, but she quits when he says she isn’t a big enough designer to handle pop star Tiffanie Christmas’s party and steals her designs.

Amy de-stresses with a mani-pedi with her BFF Kayleigh, where they run into Tiffanie Christmas and pitch her designs. Amy lands the big account and steals the event out from under Frankie Diaz.

At her first meeting with Tiffanie, Amy gets into an argument with a handsome stranger over the best table in the cafe. He turns out to be Tiffanie’s cousin, Calvin. He is a photographer and will be working the reunion as well. Calvin gives Amy some advice and warns her his family is a lot to handle. (Especially because too many cooks are in the kitchen with the event.)

Mona, Tiffanie’s mother, wants to have the reunion at her house. Calvin’s mother wants to host the event as well. Mona and Eve argue and embarrass Tiffanie. Amy reassures her client that everything is under control. Amy needs to figure out who is REALLY in charge of the family.

First, Amy meets with Calvin’s mom, who gives Amy the third degree. (Like, is she SINGLE?!?!) Amy learns some family traditions and makes stockings for charity. Then she walks around would Calvin and talks about his childhood Christmas memories. It is a strong contender for the event.

Three days later, Amy and Calvin visit Mona’s house and help put up Christmas lights. They enjoy some cocoa and Christmas carols, sung by pop star Tiffanie, the one from the movie… not the one from the 80’s.

Amy and Calvin visit Aunt Alma’s house and are welcomed with pumpkin cider and a gingerbread house. Amy falls in love with the place because it is where the family started their family traditions.

Amy, Kayleigh, and Calvin start prepping Aunt Alma’s house for the big reunion with a getting things ready montage!!!

Calvin stays late to help Amy with gift bags. They order Chinese take out and read one another fortune. “You will fall in love.” and “You will catch a shooting star.” Calvin gifts Amy a small token of appreciation, and they almost kiss.

Tiffanie host an album release party, and her flirty manager, Pia, shows up. She is friends with Frankie Diaz, who shows up at the party and blows Amy’s cover that I forgot about. Eve confronts Amy in the middle of the party and creates a scene. Tiffanie is PISSED and asks Amy to leave.

Amy chases after Calvin and apologizes for not telling him, but he isn’t ready to hear it.

Kayleigh take the fall for the misunderstanding and apologizes to

Eve and Calvin. She offers to work the event instead of Amy.

Tiffanie and Eve meet with Amy and tell her to come back, not just for the job but also Clavin. Eve gives her blessing for them to date.

Amy shows up to the reunion, which is a huge success. Amy is happy to be included in the family event and Calvin invites her to the next family reunion, as his girlfriend! Tiffanie sings a Mariah Carey ripoff while the family, Calvin, and Amy bop along to the music. A shooting star shoots across the sky ask Calvin and Amy kiss. (Thank GOD, it didn’t snow!)

The End!
