Miranda (Josipovic) and Paul (Nelson) are business rivals who accidentally meet at a costumed Santa crawl and spend a romantic evening together without learning each other’s identities. As their anonymous romance continues online, their businesses merge, forcing them into an unwanted partnership. As they clash while working together on a holiday gift-giving app, their hearts must reconcile their online love when unexpected feelings develop for one another. (2021)
Recap/Wine Thoughts
The movie begins with a lot of Santas and a sexy Mrs. Clause, Miranda. She is on a Santa bar crawl with her friend Erika, which makes sense. When Mariana’s work connection, Jackie, shows up, she puts on some silly holiday glasses so she won’t recognize her and high-tails it out of there!
Jackie is a lesbian and out on the same bar crawl with her twin brother Paul. (Who is dressed in full Santa drag.) Paul asks Miranda out on a date and gets her a drink. They slow dance all night but never take off their disguises.
Paul shares that he is a single father on the last bar stop. This is a turn-on for Miranda; they almost kiss but are rushed off to the shuttle. Miranda drops her glove, and Paul rushes to pick it up, but he misses the shuttle. They don’t even know one another’s names.
Back at work, Present Ninja, Paul, and Jackie try to figure out a way to find Mrs. Clause.
He doesn’t have to search far because Paul runs into Miranda in a Christmas shopping square. Paul is there to sell people on his app. Miranda tells him that she is against everything he works for because she is a professional gift giver and only shops locally. Unfortunately for them, their apps are being combined, and Miranda and Paul are now partners.
They may hate one another in person, but they are really hitting it off online. Paul finds Miranda on the bar crawl website, and they chat anonymously, not realizing that they are talking to each other. They decided to meet in person.
Paul and Jackie are confused about why Erika and Miranda are there at the meeting place. Jackie and Erika seem to hit it off, but Paul and Miranda think they’ve been stood up. They all leave the bar and have a flirty snowball fight.
Things start turning around, and Miranda invites Paul and his son Ryan to have dinner at her parent’s house. Her parents love having a kid around, and Paul feels at home for the first time in a long time. (He had a rough upbringing.) Cue Grant, Miranda’s ex, showing to try and win her back. She shuts him down.
The app merger is a success, and I don’t really care about what is happening with the app. They talk about team players and blah blah blah. Paul and Miranda get into an argument at a holiday party, and they are pretty rude to one another. Miranda gets the promotion and her way with the app. Paul quits and leaves the party.
Paul sends the perfect gift to Miranda, her glove. Oh no, wait, a pair of ice skates. She finds Paul and Ryan in the park, and they apologize and kiss while the kid makes snow angels endlessly.
