Emilia Martin (González), a cartographer of school maps, has plans for a cozy Christmas at home until her boss has a last-minute project for her, designing a novelty treasure map of the North Pole. Emilia decides to seek out the expertise of North Pole explorer Drew Campbell (Rowe), who reluctantly agrees to help her. As the two work closely, they discover more than either of them ever expected. (2021)
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Emilia likes maps. She is a cartographer! Her boss asks her to create a fictional map of the North Pole for Christmas, and her logical brain can’t comprehend. She wants it to be true to life.
Needing a boost of energy, Emilia heads to her local coffee shop, run by cute gays, for a peppermint latte and sees a crowd watching a man take pictures from a rooftop. He is Drew Campbell, a famous explorer with a TV show. When she goes into the store, the photographer comes down and steals Emilia’s latte.
Drew is in town to do a story about Cresent Cove and is hired by Emilia’s boss to help with the map in exchange for Emilia taking Drew around to experience the small-town Christmas Emilia doesn’t want to work with him and tries to use “bunny-sitting” as her excuse. (Haha!)
Drew and Emilia have a hate/hate relationship. It grows into a love relationship after some gingerbread house making, Christmas tree chopping/decorating, and (of course) sledding. They then go to a gazebo and look at a Christmas Star, and Emilia shares her family’s Christmas tradition.
Drew invites Emilia out to dinner, and she is surprised to see that his editor is there and she is beautiful. The editor is condescending and rude AF to Emilia. She doesn’t want Drew to date a small-town girl and stop traveling. Well, that is too bad because Emilia and Drew are destined to travel the world together!
Emilia decides to quit her job and make custom maps. Her boss is surprisingly supportive, and he even offers to pay for her first trip. Then she slowly dances with Drew and tells him that they will map out their future together.
