Synopsis (via Lifetime)
Christmas enthusiast and single mom Harper (Davis) has created a program, Six Degrees of Santa, in which anonymous ‘Santas’ give a gift and set of instructions to be passed along, temporarily enjoyed, and regifted indefinitely. Her goal is to create a Christmas experience that’s real-life, magical, and unexpected. When Harper’s own gift lands in the hands of a leading internet entrepreneur, Jason (Lund), he’s convinced that the original Santa might be his soul mate. He seeks out Harper, as the architect of the program, to help him track down this mystery woman.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Harper owns a paper company that hosts Six Degrees of Santa. An event where you gift a complete stranger or acquaintance and pass it on to six people. Harper’s daughter helps her film a video for social media. It seems like A LOT, but hey, at least they laid it all out there right away.
Speaking of social media, Zoe, the upstairs neighbor, is a social media influencer/consultant who talks like a lunatic. (See referring so Christmas decorations as “background:”) Zoe suggests Harper use dating apps.
Pauline, Harper’s mother, says that she is considering selling the business because sales are low.
Jason Sparks (No relation to Jordin Sparks!) is a Christmas tree salesman selling Spark Tree that you buy ONLINE! Harper walks past the pitch and disdains him for commodifying Christmas. They worked together once in Silicon Valley, but Jason doesn’t remember her. Jason and Harper banter in an elevator.
Harper’s ex and Dani’s dad tell Harper that he is dating someone whom he wants to introduce to his daughter because it is getting kind of serious. Jason Sparks’s Ex is also getting married and sends him an engagement notice. (Which is catty AF!)
The postman gets the first gift, and his kid loves the book. The gift gets passed around and makes its way to Mr. Jason Spark’s desk. The book is from Harper, and it hits Jason Sparks right when he needs it. He vows to find Santa #1. Steve and his assistant Elliot visit the website and see Harper’s video.
Jason Spark stops by the paper store and asks Harper who the original Santa was who sent him the book. Harper plays it cool and doesn’t tell him she IS Santa #1. Jason thinks that whoever sent the book will have a romantic connection with him. He wants to take Six Degrees of Santa worldwide and get a copyright. Harper negotiates that he help save the paper store, and she will help him find… her.
Harper asks her influencer neighbor, Zoe, to pretend to be Santa #1. Zoe is so down because the publicity of the date could get her more followers. Zoe reads the book for research.
Over coffee, Harper tells Jason that she found his Santa #1 and gives him Zoe’s social media to learn more about her. He thinks it was too easy. He asks her to set up a meet-cute for him and Zoe to make it more romantic. Harper begrudgingly agrees.
Zoe bumps into Harper and Jason at a coffee shop, and she immediately starts taking selfies with them. On their date, she plugs her social media channels and asks him to get his company to shout her out. (It is like going on a date with me, poor Jason.)
For some reason, Jason calls Zoe for a second date. Zoe gets the boost she needs and begs Harper to help her get out of it.
A Christmas wrapping contest to support small businesses is happening. Jason is dressed up as Santa. I missed something here.
Zoe feels like she might actually like Jason. This is a good thing because that was the whole reason for the setup anyway. Except Harper has feelings for Jason too, she decides to work with him on expanding Six Degrees of Santa. (Her ex-husband is onto Harper, and he tells her to let herself find love again.)
While working together, Jason admits that he doesn’t feel the same way about Zoe as he did when reading the note or the book Northbound Elf. Harper tells him that she also likes the book and understands why the book is so important to him.
Harper and Jason go skating and literally fall all over one another. Harper worries that she spoke up too soon and doesn’t know how to move forward. Harper talks to her mom, who tells her daughter that she needs to see what is right in front of her.
Jason meets with the author of The Northbound Elf. He lets her know the book is trending on social media and offers to reprint it. Hardback!!!!!
The mailman bumps into Jason while he leaves Zoe’s house and tells him that Harper is Santa #1. Jason is confused AF and feels betrayed. He wanders aimlessly through the city, and his assistant grows worried and calls Harper. Elliot tells her about Jason filing a copyright.
Harper and Jason argue and then come clean. Harper apologizes for lying and for roping Zoe into the whole ordeal.
Speaking of Zoe, she goes on a date with Jason again, and he tells her he knows she isn’t Santa #1. Zoe pretends to be shocked and apologizes for using him for social media. Elliot interrupts the date, and Jason lets him take over so he can make a social media post for Harper.
Jason puts out luminarias in front of Harper’s house and asks her to be a partner. In business and in life. They embrace and make out… a lot. Good for them!

Perfectly fine but a little dull and contrived.
