Recap/Wine Thoughts
In a Vermont house with way too many stained glass windows, a woman with a walker searches for someone named Sabrina before she is sent careening down the stairs to her death. Her daughter Sabrina finds the body at the stroke of midnight.
Cut to Natalie, a recently promoted chef, who is about to head up a new restaurant. Natalie is pulled away from her job because her twin sister is dead. (The woman who fell down the “accidentally” stairs.) Natalie drives up to the sleepy town in Vermont. It is winter, and the house (which used to be an inn) is being taken care of by the real estate lawyer, Sarah.
Sabrina is not excited to see her Aunt, and not just because she looks like her mother. Sabrina tells Natalie about the ghosts that haunt the inn and most likely killed her mother.
At the funeral, Sabrina introduces her Aunt to her vegan boyfriend, Elijah. Natalie also meets a handsome man named Andy; he was helping her sister open the inn. It seems like he wants to take it over because he tackily gives Natalie his card/ (Right by the casket! Can this woman grieve!)
At the grave sight, Natalie gives a speech and wishes she could have been there more for her sister when she was alive. Andy is there again; this time, Natalie asks him to fix some issues she has been having with the inn. Specifically, the hearing a LOUD thumping noise.
Sabrina is a straight-up bratty teen when she learns that Natalie will sell the inn and move them to New York. The teenager sleepwalks while mumbling about her mother.
Andy stops by to investigate the noises; he finds a pentagram in the basement on the wall and shows Natalie. They rationalize that Sabrina must be a witch. (Which is like so on the nose.) Later, Natalie finds tarot cards in Sabrina’s room and is about to call the exorcist.
Elijah comforts Sabrina in a graveyard and tells her that she shouldn’t move. Natalie thinks Elijah is a bad influence. (I mean, the kid has his nails painted! Natalie can’t even deal!) Later, Elijah confides in Natalie that Sabrina means a lot to him and promises to have her best interest at heart.
While getting the newspaper, Natalie slips on some ice and falls hard. Someone is watching her from the bushes. It is the same way that Cecelia broke her ankle.
Andy comes over to install a new security system and enjoys a dinner made by Natalie, and THEN he enjoys Natalie. After a sexy time, they are shocked by a loud alarm. Sabrina comes home from a night out and can’t turn it off. When Sabrina sees Andy with his shirt off, she tells him he has moved on from her mother pretty quickly, which must be because Natalie is look-a-like. (Ugh, Handy Andy is gross.)
Sabrina and Elijah hold a seance with a legit-looking Quiji board. The ghost tells them that Sabrina killed her mother, even though she doesn’t remember that happening. Sabrina tells Natalie that the mother is haunting the inn, and Natalie starts to believe her niece.
While looking through the house, Sabrina finds a dumbwaiter that leads to a cellar. She goes down and is surprised to find Elijah down there. He has been living there since before she moved in and has been making noises in the walls. SABRINA DOES NOT FIND THIS CONCERNING!
Andy is back and aggressively trying to get into the inn. He warns Natalie that she is not safe, but before he can say more, Sabrina hits him in the head with a fire poker. Elijah calls the police because Natalie’s phone is suddenly missing. They tell Natalie that Andy killed Celine to try and get ownership of the inn.
Sensing that something is off, Natalie goes to the kitchen and tries to call for help from the landline, but Elijah and Sabrina won’t leave her in the house alone.
When Natalie learns that Elijah was suspended and didn’t go with, she realizes that he killed her sister. Natalie tells Sabrina that she is really her mother and has photo evidence to prove it. (So many secrets!) This turns Sabrina against Elijah.
Elijah tries to explain that he did it all for Sabrina. He chases them around the inn with a machete when that doesn’t work. Sabrina gets her fire poker, and Natalie tries to explain why she gave her up. It is a lot.
Elijah is eventually stabbed and falls down the stairs, like most people in a Lifetime movie when stairs are present. Sabrina and Natalie hug it out? All is forgiven? Okay, then!
Andy gets the inn and somehow is planning on running it despite all the death, murder, and secrets.

It was like watching paint dry… The only good thing was the location! I do love that wallpaper!
Is it me, or did Lifetime movies die right around 2021? I commend you for reviewing watching these new ones. Over at https://lifetimemovies.fandom.com/wiki/The_Lifetime_Movies_Wiki, I have a hard time adding the new ones. It’s just like pulling teeth! However, I will have a page for this, this (I’m wracking my brain for a polite word for “turd”) attempt at a movie soon, and I will add a link back here (as always).
