Synopsis (via Lifetime)

After a nasty break-up, Faith Davis needs a new roommate to supplement the rent and finds that something very strange is going on with the tenant who decides to move in. Stars Angela Cole, Zane Haney, Taylor Carter, and Austin Valli (2023).

Recap/Wine Thoughts.

The movie begins with a shirtless hunk answering his front door. The is tasered in the abs RIGHT AWAY! A blonde woman named Faith rushes in and screams for Jeremy. He is tied up in the attic, still shirtless, and tells Faith to run.

Not even these abs of steel can stop a taser!

Flash to three weeks earlier, when the couple were arguing. Jeremy, who is wearing a shirt, leaves Faith. She gets so mad she throws a pillow!

Faith vents to her co-worker, Jade, and worries about paying for her home. She is going to have to find a tenant for the guest room. Faith looks on Roommate Finder and meets with potential roommates. She hits it off with a handsome, non-drinking lawyer in the middle of a career change to be a teacher. He showed her his tutoring website and gave her a reference. After checking everything out, Vince is OK to move on in!

Vince seems hot and charming!

Vince wastes no time making himself at home. He takes things off the fridge because they look messy and hides cameras all over the house. Other than that, he acts like the perfect flatmate. He makes Faith pancakes!

Faith goes out with Jaden for drinks, and they laugh about Faith hooking up with Vince because he is hot. (I like Jaden, she is so horny.) When Faith comes home, she sees Vince is upset. He shows her a camera and accuses her of filming him. Faith is embarrassed and assumes it is Jeremy.

Speaking of Jeremy, he plays basketball with his friends, and it is shirts vs skins. (Do guys do that?!) Faith confronts her ex, and he denies everything.

Vince offers to cook dinner for Faith and Jaden. She takes him up on the offer, and Jaden is THRILLED to meet Vince. Vince takes the time in the kitchen to rearrange where the wine glasses are. Jaden asks him questions about where he went to school and grew up, but Vince is evasive. Before she leaves, Jaden tells Faith that she feels like something is off. (She also stops pushing the sex with the roommate thing.)

She in not into him anymore!

Faith comes home and finds the thermostat turned way down. When she goes into his room, he screams at her to “GET THE HELL OUT.” They argue about the temp that turns into a much bigger deal. Faith goes to work and comes home to find the locks on Vince’s door have been changed. He refuses to answer the door and talk to her when she tries to confront him again. He says he doesn’t feel safe.

Faith asks him to move out, and he holds her to the lease terms. He gives her a list of improvements he needs and refuses to pay rent. Vince tells her she will either evict him or shut up. Faith is super stressed and worried.

Awww, don’t cry babe!

Jaden takes Faith to meet with a lawyer who reviews the lease. She tells them it will take months to get him out of the house and many court proceedings. Jaden offers to take Faith in for her safety. While they eat Chinese, Jaden suggests that Vince hid the camera instead of Jeremy to gaslight and make Faith feel guilty. It causes Faith to dive deep online, and she finds nothing about Vince online. She spends a full 24 hours calling and searching for more information and learns he has been lying about everything.

The only clue to who Vince REALLY is, is his class ring. She makes a copy of his room key, sneaks in while he is sleeping, and gets the info—Valley Ridge High School class of 2011.

Faith meets with the class president, shows her a picture of Vince, and learns his real name is Wayne Travers. Tiffany tells Faith that he was a scam artist. She tells Faith to be careful because he strangled a girl at a party once.

Faith confronts Vince/Wayne to get more ammo and records the conversation. He threatens her on tape, and she thinks she has him. Then, She finds out later that it is a felony because California is a two-party consent state for all recordings.

She asks Jeremy to move back in with her for her safety. They take the door knob off of his room and start playing loud music throughout the night while wearing headphones. Then, she throws a rowdy party to annoy Vince even further. The plan backfires, and he storms off angrily and returns with the cops and a self-inflicted black eye. He accuses Jeremy of assault and battery. Vince files a restraining order against Faith, and she can’t stay in her own home.

Sadly, these guys weren’t strippers

Jaden and Faith asked their friend to pose as a client for his tutoring. She asks for references and gives them to Faith to track down people who know him and are his clients. They call every one of them and sully his reputation. Vince loses all his clients.

Kind of genius!

Vince calls and tells Faith she has won. Faith and Jeremy go to the house and find a letter that just says, “Till we meet again.” Jeremy sleeps over, and Faith thanks him for being there for her during the difficult time. They decide to give it another shot and have sex while Vince watches on his laptop in his car.

We are back to the shirtless taze moment. Vince holds Jeremy at knifepoint and tells him he has been watching them. Vince screams that he is the king of the castle. He plans to kill Faith and blame it on Jeremy.

Faith doesn’t know what to do and tries to offer Vince the house. Jaden calls, and Vince wants her cell phone. She gets the idea to call Jeremy’s phone to create a distraction. There is a fight, and Faith sends Vince falling down the stairs. When Jaden arrives, Vince is missing.

Two weeks later, he is scamming another landlord looking for a normal roommate.

Back to his old tricks
