Recap/Wine Thoughts
Grandma Cooper’s cookies are famous! Anne Cooper has taken over the family business as the CEO. She films the commercial for the holiday season and is ready to sell sell sell. The most significant selling point is they are still using the top-secret family recipe.
Anne isn’t getting good press and is seen as outside of the NYC business world. She has very large shoes to fill.
Sam and his daughter, Bella, shop for a new Christmas tree. Sam isn’t a fan of the new CEO of Coopers. Bella sees Anne and unknowingly tells Anne that her dad hates her.
Anne visits her Grandmother’s grave with her Grandmother’s longtime friend, Arthur. She tells him that there is nothing keeping her in town other than the business.
At a fancy event, Anne and her assistant Jillian think that it might be a little boring and stuffy. Anne gives a speech, and while she does, someone breaks into the store and steals the secret family recipe.
A guy named Calvin is rocking out to some Christmas music when Jillian and Anne recruit him to help find the thief. He designed the security system. Calvin realizes that whoever broke in used an old security code. Grandma’s cookie.
Anne suspects a rival bakery called Bella’s Bakery. Sam owns the shop and makes fun of Anne for acting so suspicious of them. Sam and Bella were at a dance rehearsal, and they deny involvement in the theft.
Bella decides to help because she is a big fan of books called Mistletoe Mysteries. They look for an employee who has been fired in the last five years.
Sam tries to help Anne recreate the cookies. They get the consistency right but can’t quite match the flavor. Later, he invites Anne to his holiday party that is nutcracker themed. Anne looks at the Christmas tree with Bella, and they talk about her mother, who died. Anne tells Bella that she looks a lot like her mother.
Anne and Sam have some alone time and talk about past relationships. Sam hasn’t dated since his wife died. Anne shares that she lost her parents to a car accident when she was 18.
Anne wants to reinstate the Christmas Tree Lighting and use it as marketing. They work on getting the word out while also trying to figure out who stole the recipe.
Charlie and Bella track down the fired employee and interrogate him. Greg denies everything. They chase him down, but he is the wrong guy.
Sam and Anne bake cookies every day, trying to perfect the recipe.
It is the night of the Christmas Tree Lighting. Anne makes sure the event is going well and makes smores with Sam. He tells her how to toast the perfectly toasted marshmallow.
Anne sees a board member, Meriam, and Marge, condoling at the tree lighting. She realizes that Meriam wasn’t at the fancy party because she fell ill. Anne takes Carter to the office, and they search Meriam’s office.) Meriam catches them and puts Anne on administrative leave for not disclosing the theft to the board.
Before the review board, Anne watches a video about why people love Coopers. Anne makes a speech before the board’s ruling. She realizes that Coopers is really about giving to others.
Arthur turns out to be the largest shareholder of the business and the thief. Grandma Rose was testing Anne to see if she could replicate the cookie recipe. Anne gets another shot at running the business.
Bella does the dance of the sugar plum fairies but gets stage fright. Anne is in the wings trying to encourage Bella. When Bella refuses to dance, Anne rushes on stage to get her started with the moves. Bella completes the dance and gets a standing ovation.
Outside of the theater, Sam and Anne talk. They decide to give their relationship a go and spend Christmas morning together. They kiss, the end!
