Synopsis (via Lifetime)
Megan’s attempt to break free from her troubled marriage takes a deadly turn when she witnesses her husband’s murder right before her eyes. After seeing his mistress killed only days earlier, ominous threats close in, and Megan realizes she could be the next target.
Recap/Wine Thoughts
Megan is trying to prove her estranged husband Nathan is having an affair and is parked outside Lisa’s house. She witnesses Lisa being pushed off the 4th-floor balcony. Good thing she knows CPR, but she doesn’t rescue her husband’s potential mistress. Her nurse sister, Hannah, rushes to the scene and says there was nothing she could do, but wasn’t there?
Nathan claims that he wasn’t having an affair with Lisa, and has no idea where the note came from. Alberta, Nathan’s boss, contradicts this by asking him if they should issue a statement about Lisa’s death. Lisa was a client of their business, whatever it is. Alberta also insists that Meg attend a work gala to keep up appearances at the company with Nathan. Alberta even sends Meg a dress.
Megan has lunch with her BFF Molly, who looks a lot like Hannah; these casting directors need to switch it up.
At the Gala, Nathan and Meg fake smiles for the cameras, but behind the scenes, Meg isn’t sleeping and is working on her red iPad. Then Nathan is shot?!?! Meg can’t catch a break!
Meg replays memories while looking through that damn red iPad, planning Nathan’s funeral. Meg and Nathan’s relationship was hot and cold. Unfortunately for Meg, the detective thinks the same person killed Nathan and Lisa. Meg was a witness to both crimes. She is brought into question, and the detective tells Meg that Lisa was pregnant and Nathan was the father! (Nathan’s mother knew about the relationship.)
Meg is knocked out in her garage with a tire iron and left for dead with the car running and the garage door closed. Meg survives because Alberta stopped by unexpectedly. Hannah takes care of her sister because she is a nurse at the hospital.
Since Meg is the protagonist of the movie, she is only in a coma for one scene. The detective treats the attack as an attempted murder. Meg can’t figure out who would have a vendetta out for her and Nathan.
WOW! THIS IS SO BORING!
If I wanted to watch people talking in different configurations. I’d go speed dating.
Alberta has a black sedan, the car seen at both crime scenes. So Meg follows Alberta to the generic business’s office. Oh, it is a PR firm. Molly has notes on her desk about Meg, and she was keeping tabs on Nathan’s wife at Nathan’s request.
Someone tries to poison Meg. But she is fine.
Meg is back on her feet in no time and looks into Molly. Meg learns that Molly had a heated lunch with Nathan’s stepmother. They meet on a park bench to talk about THAT next.
Alberta ends up in jail because the murder weapon is found in her house by the police.
Meg finds messages between Nathan and Molly. Then she cries while cleaning. Meg and her sister Hannah get information off the phone, and there is a tracker app. They have circumstantial evidence linking Molly to both crime scenes.
Meg tries to get Molly to incriminate herself, and Molly admits she had a special connection. Molly pushed Lisa over the balcony because SHE wanted to be Nathan’s mistress. Lisa wasn’t trying to shoot Nathan; she was aiming for Meg and missed. (LOL, that is hilarious.)
The police roll up and arrest Molly, just as she pulls out a switchblade, like she is in the Michael Jackson Bad Video.
Hannah and Meg take a spa day and talk some more. The end.
STRAY Thought
This weekend is all about mistresses.
The worst thing a Lifetime movie can be is BORING. No action. Just scenes of people talking and waiting for the twist. Which turns out to be very dumb.
