When Zoe wakes up to find her husband murdered beside her in bed with no memory of anyone entering their home, she becomes the prime suspect. To clear her name, she must uncover the real killer and stop them before they finish what they started.
Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie begins with a drunk guy, Ronald Smithson, leaving a bar and being run off the road by a speeding truck. Then the truck double-backs and runs him over.
Cut to Morgan running on a wooded trail with her teenage daughter, Lizzie. They talk about playing hide-and-seek in the woods when Lizzie and her brother, Cody, were little. (Which seems like a bad parenting idea.) Kids grow up so fast!

The truck driver killer, who is really hot, is on the run and sets up camp in Morgan’s house. He puts up locks on the doors and plans to hold the family hostage for ransom. His name is Grant, and did I mention he is hot? The beard/baseball cap is working for him.

While Morgan makes Chicken Parm, Grant makes his grand entrance! He isn’t there for dinner. He is there for a hideout. When Daddy Kevin comes home, he finds his family at the dinner table with a man and a gun. The family hands over their cellphones and agrees to follow his instructions.
Oh, yay, there are rules!
- Stay in my sight
- Don’t do anything stupid.
- Grant has taken control of the security system and cellphones.

They review the weekend schedule, and Morgan has a ladies’ lunch in the neighborhood. The nosey neighbors aren’t going to make this easy for Grant, and I love that! Dora comes over to borrow garlic powder. Dora doesn’t make it off the front porch alive. She should have minded her business.
Cody is locked in the attic with books, like it is Flowers in the Attic, Part 2!

Turns out, Kevin has a work phone and has been trying to send out a text for help. He is also having an affair, and if his mistress comes looking, they could be in trouble. Grant finds the work phone and shoots a picture of Kevin and Morgan’s wedding.

Morgan goes to the lunch, and it is a fun event for everyone except her! Morgan tries to rush out, and the ladies think she is just being rude. Police stop Morgan and let the neighborhood know that the hit-and-run driver could be hiding in the woods… or in Morgan’s house.
The police presence increases, and cops are patrolling the streets. It freaks Grant out because he killed a cop, and that put him in jail for years.
The kidnapper actually leaves his hostages under video surveillance while going out to run an errand. Grant walks through the woods to drop off and meets someone named Bob. A news report comes on the TV about the parking lot guy, Ronald. He killed his wife, and Grant was getting revenge. Kevin is somehow linked and keeping secrets from his family.

Morgan’s friend comes over for some wine in the backyard and day drinking. Morgan tries to warn her friend about the hostage situation. Well, she actually doesn’t; it is a daydream. Morgan acts like everything is fine.
The neighbors strike again and worry about Dora because he dog is incessantly barking. They call the police for a wellness check, and the hot cop questions Morgan and Grant, who pretend to be a couple. Kevin is tied up in the basement now. To celebrate getting rid of the police, they do a shot of vodka. Well, Grant realizes it is drugged and throws the glass.

There is so much left of this movie, and I’m getting over it. Grant explains that his wife ran a yellow light and got into a tragic accident. Ronald was the other driver and survived, and Kevin’s firm was on the case.
The family makes a break for it. Lizzie, the track star, runs into the woods to get Grant to follow her and plays a good old-fashioned game of hide and seek. Cody is missing, and the police are called to the scene. Cody comes out from the woods, and the family is reunited!

They go back to their normal lives, but Grant returns! He is back to get Kevin to admit to his wrongdoings. Grant plays a video of Kevin coming onto Grant’s wife, Alyssa, who was a paralegal at the law firm. Alyssa threatened to tell Kevin’s wife and literally ran away. Kevin chased after her, causing the car accident.

Morgan stabs Grant to save her dirtbag husband, and they are all saved! Morgan divorces his ass so quickly and raises her family as a single mother!
STRAY Thought
The stakes were high, and tension had been high in it, but the ending kind of fizzled out. We didn’t need the convoluted tying everything together.
Not the Lifetime Movie with the same name, with Laurie Fortier from 2022, Behind Close Doors.
