Synopsis (via Lifetime)
A desperate woman starts over again in a small seaside town after faking her own death to escape from her abusive husband. But when he tracks her down, he starts to threaten the lives of those around her until she agrees to be with him forever.
Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie begins with a woman in a terrible wig trying to explain to her boyfriend, Daniel, that she isn’t cheating on him. When she tries to leave, Daniel threatens to kill the wig woman’s sister and the man who sent her flowers. The woman’s name is Rochelle, and she decides to leave the relationship by jumping over a railing.
Three months later, Rochelle lives in a port town and has her real hair. Good for her. She still has panic attacks about Daniel finding her, and makes wedding dresses on the black market for cash under the name Teddi.

Rochelle isn’t close with her neighbors, but does wave at a hot guy, Scotch, on the docks. When a mother/daughter argument over a prom dress explodes next door, Rochelle breaks up the argument and her rule of not talking to anyone. She offers to fix the dress for teenage Farrah.
While she works on the dress, Scotch lets himself into Rochelle’s apartment to fix a garage disposal; his brother is the landlord. Rochelle almost stabs him with fabric scissors, and any good seamstress knows fabric scissors are for FABRIC ONLY. Rochelle apologizes profusely, but Scotch won’t hear it. He takes her sailing, and they talk about being alone. Rochelle tells Scotch that she isn’t looking for anything serious, and he is like, same. They make a sunset non-romantic date.

Farrah looks amazing in the dress and tries to take a selfie with Rochelle/Teddi, and Rochelle freaks out and tells her not to post the photo. Amy, Farrah’s mother, tells Rochelle that she understands needing a fresh start and wants to be friends. Farrah, on the other hand, is a jerk and posts the picture anyway.
Wow! We next get a dating montage WITH a flour fight like it is 2016. Scotch and Rochelle’s relationship is progressing quickly. Rochelle tells him about Daniel and the abuse. She even tells Scotch her real name and that she faked her own death. She did it to keep her sister Kenzie safe from Daniel. Scotch takes it as well as one would expect and tells Rochelle that he never thought he could love anyone else since his wife died, until now!

Meanwhile, Daniel uses Scraper AI to search the internet for photos and finds the teen selfie. Ready or not, here comes Daniel. He tracks down the local beach town and makes a play for Amy, seducing him with his charm. His cover name is PATRICK! Like me!
Rochelle calls her sister, and what has to be the most bizarre FaceTime ever. “Hey, Sis! I’m alive. What’s new with you?
Daniel offers to buy Amy’s house for millions of dollars. She thinks he is a GQ cover boy crossed with Daddy Warbucks. On the home tour, Amy forgets she is cooking and burns the steaks. As she tries to fix the dinner, Daniel almost takes Amy out with a meat tenderizer. Then he realizes he needs to get info about Rochelle. Let’s throw a neighborhood mixer!

The mixer has some dry-looking snacks and margaritas made with oranges? Amy is less worried about the food and more worried about the turnout. Farrah runs out to meet with her friends and casually mentions she posted the pic to get Teddi more exposure. That’s when Rochelle realizes Daniel has found her.
Daniel corners Rochelle in the bathroom and pulls a knife on her and threatens to kill Amy and Farrah if she doesn’t leave with him immediately. Scotch notices Teddie is acting strangely. He also notices Daniel is acting off too. Amy thinks it is her cooking.
Rochelle tries to break back a page, but Daniel holds her captive in her own home. Scotch interrupts, and Daniel tries to spin the narrative so that Rochelle looks like the crazy one, faking her own death to get out of debts she owes. Scotch doesn’t know what to think, even though it is pretty obvious. Daniel leaves his wedding ring and tells Rochelle he is happy to get a divorce.
Scotch offers to take Rochelle out to his boat to live on the sea for a month. They will come up with a plan together. Rochelle wants to go to the police, and her sister is in town. There is a lot to do.
The police are less than helpful.

Daniel knocks Scotch out while prepping his boat. He ends up in the hospital in a coma. Rochelle insists it was Daniel, but the cops don’t listen to her. Kenzie calls and thanks Rochelle for keeping her house unlocked, only Rochelle didn’t; Daniel broke in and attacked Kenzie. Amy goes to check on her and is the next to be taken out by Daniel. With the fabric scissors! Then he stabs himself and calls the police to incriminate Rochelle.
When Rochelle arrives home, she is arrested by the same cop who was questioning her in the hospital. Rochelle reminds him of this, and he says, “I Won’t be your alibi!!” Even though he literally is. Rochelle is put in jail.
Scotch wakes up and tells the police that Daniel attacked him, but the cop doesn’t believe him, because forensic evidence says otherwise. The cop realizes his mistake and tries to make things right, but he really messed this one up. He gets Rochelle out of jail and takes her home to pack a bag and escort her to Scotche’s board.
Daniel knocks out the detective and interrupts Rochelle’s packing. Rochelle is more concerned with packing her toothbrush than her sister being murdered! There is a chase to the dock, and Rochelle tries to call for help on the CB radio, because she left her phone.

Just as Rochelle pulls off the dock, Daniel jumps aboard. As the boat floats, waiting for the Coast Guard, Rochelle realizes that she is not alone. Rochelle fights her husband off with some random boat tool that I couldn’t identify. It looked like a selfie stick TBH. Rochelle shoots him in the chest, and Daniel falls overboard. She lets him sink. Bye, Daniel.
One month later, Rochelle considers a move, but Scotch has a better idea. Sailing around the world!!!!!! Life’s too short, so why not!
