Synopsis (via Lifetime)

A small-town pastor becomes the prime suspect in a murder case.

John Stamos is the pastor in a small town, and his congregation members are murdered in an apparent domestic dispute.

Detective Catherine, Emmy winner Anna Gunn, survey the scene and find it strange that John Stamos is lurking around the crime scene and takes the family dog as his own. He also takes care of their daughter Katie.

The movie flashes back to Alice and George’s relationship. He is abusive and controlling. Alice found religion with Pastor John Stamos, and he baptizes her. Her friend Heather witnesses the abuse and the closeness between Alice and John Stamos.

Medical results comeback and shows that George did not kill himself in murder-suicide-like detectives initially thought. On the day of the funeral, Detective Catherine questions Pastor John Stamos, who says it is a tragedy what happened to the couple. Then he deletes a bunch of files off his laptop.

Detective Catherine finds Alice’s journal and discovers that they were having an affair. She brings the journal to Pastor John Stamos, and he swears to God that he never meant for the affair to happen. She highlights a comment where Pastor John Stamos said he would kill George if he hurt her.

Flash to Alice and Pastor John Stamos falling in love. She finds happiness and is looking to find herself in religion. They essentially playhouse while George is away. Katie wants her parents to get back together. Little does she know that her mother has found a new man.

A sex scene happens, and you’d think it would be sexier with John Stamos in it. He wears a tank top for crying out loud. We don’t even get to see the man shirtless? He doesn’t want to go public with the relationship and ends things. Alicia gives George another chance against the protests of her best friend and Pastor John Stamos. Alice’s daughter Katie is thrilled.

Pastor John Stamos rebounds with a Buddhist spiritual leader named Heather. As they are having sex, he calls her Alice. They talk about Alice and Georges’s murder. He admits to thinking he could save her and regrets ending things. The next morning he is arrested for the murder of George Hayward. (Heather turned him in.) He is released on bail.

Next, we see the men getting into a physical altercation. Then George comes home and beats his wife because he is jealous of Pastor John Stamos and calls her a whore. Alice admits the relationship and sends George into a fit of rage. He snaps her neck and kills himself… or did he. Katie comes home and finds her mother dead on the ground. Her father is passed out from chugging beers on the couch. She shoots him in the back of the head and goes to Pastor John Stamos who helps her cover up the murder. WHAT A TWIST!

The plan works and Katie goes off to college. There is not enough evidence to chargePastor John Stamos and the murder goes unsolved.
