Synopsis (via Lifetime)
When her family moves to a converted church in the country, teenager Molly must save her troubled stepsister from a dangerous relationship with the desperate ghost of a young girl.
Thoughts
Jean and her daughter Molly are moving to a small town with Jean’s new husband and his two kids, Dave and Heather. The move into an old church, and it is very creepy. Not as creepy as the kid Heather who walks through the woods and hears voices. Molly helps take care of the children.
The kids are taken to a graveyard by a pipe-smoking neighbor named Mr. Simmond. Heather sees a grave with her initials on it and hears a voice say, “you’re not alone.” Then she sees a ghost child who wants to be her best friend. Molly hears the voices too and starts to follow her stepsister around. Molly sees Heather acting strangely. Molly tries to talk to her parents, but they won’t listen.
After Molly sees the ghost child, she confronts Heather, who is very defensive. Heather does mention a girl named Helen. Molly asks Mr. Simmonds about Helen, and he knows she sees the ghosts too. He warns Molly about Helen and says the spirit is dangerous and to be careful. Molly takes her younger brother to the library, and they look into the history of the house. Helen is one of the pictures with her family, and they all perished in a fire.
Heather is lured out into the wood by the ghosts, and Molly follows after her. She sees how the fire started. Helen barricaded her family in the house and set it on fire. Then she caught her self on fire and died. Heather lies on Helen’s grave and starts a fire too, but Molly tries to stop her. Heather says that Helen is the only person who cares about her, and no one will forgive her for what she did.
It turns out Heather also killed her mother in a fire or something. So she can relate to Helen. The sisters find an old cellar with mummified bodies of Helen and her family. Their spirits are free, and the movie is over. Thank GOD. This was just so bad.
