Inspired by true events, this story follows a woman who escaped the clutches of a dangerous man only for no one in her small town to believe her. When he hunts her down again and drags her to a rural location where no one can hear her scream, she is forced to use her intelligence and resolve to enact a plan that will either lead to her freedom… or her death. Meghan Carrasquillo, William McKinney, and Jessica Morris star (2025)
Recap/Wine Thoughts
The movie starts with a blonde who looks like Sarah Jessica Parker running through the woods. A man chases her with a rifle, which isn’t the best gun to run with. The SJP wannabe jumps off a cliff to avoid getting caught.

Cut to Dan and Jane, who are taking in Jane’s sister Amy after a rough trip. Amy is always dramatic and tells tall tales. She shows up at her sister’s door with the police and says she was kidnapped. The police worked with Amy to recap what happened, but they found no evidence and released Amy to her sister.

Amy posts on social media and gets back to work at her struggling Salon. Dan tells Jane he doesn’t believe that Amy was actually kidnapped and thinks she made it up. People on social media think that Amy is just trying to get new clients. At least Dan says it to Amy’s face.

A reporter named Time Cook sees Amy’s post on social media and interviews her for a story, but he doesn’t think Amy was really kidnapped either. Just as the title suggests… NO ONE BELIEVES HER! When Amy calls the newspaper to complain, she learns that no Tim Cook works for the paper.

One guy does believe the story, and he saves Amy after she confronts Tim Cook. His name is Paul and he has a five o’clock shadow. Paul buys Amy coffee, and she tells him she is not ready for a relationship. To make sure Paul is not a psycho, she asks him three questions.
1) Middle Name (Andrew)
2) Occupation (Venture capitalist)
3) Someone important in his life. (His mom)
I would ask different questions, but you do you, Amy!
Amy and her sister work to try to report Tim Cook to the police. Jane helps make a wanted flyer before she goes out of town for work, leaving Amy home to babysit. Jane spends a lot of her time flirting with Paul. Someone tries to break in while Amy babysits, and she calls Paul to come over to keep them safe.

Tim Cook shows up at the Salon and asks Amy to stop harassing him and smearing his public image. Tim wasn’t even in town the night before. Amy calls Paul, and he “takes care” of Tim Cook and then chloroforms Amy, saying she can’t get away from him that easily.
Amy wakes up in the trunk of Paul’s car, gagged and tied. She tries to get away, but he brings her back to the cabin in the woods where he had her before. Since no one suspected him or found any evidence, why not just repeat the crime?

This time is different, though, because Jane has a bad feeling and goes to look for her sister. Jane stops by the Salon and sees that Amy’s purse and phone are both left in the office. Something is not right. Jane reports it to the police and rules Paul out as a suspect because he sent a text to Amy canceling plans.

Amy is handcuffed to a pole, and he feeds her peanut butter sandwiches to keep her strength up. Amy goes to the bathroom and tries to escape. She uses bleach and a black towel to write our help. (Not sure that is how bleach works, but good for her for being innovative.
Paul tells Amy that someone named Adam took his son and is blackmailing him into kidnapping Amy. He shows Amy the picture of his son, and when that doesn’t work, he unhandcuffs Amy to earn her trust. Amy doesn’t believe him about Adam.
Tim Cook is ALIVE! Jane confronts him, and he tells Jane that Paul beat him up. Jane rules him out as a suspect. The police won’t report Amy as a missing person for 48 hours, but maybe if Tim Cook goes with Jane to tell them what happened and why they should look into Paul.

I’m not sure what is happening, but Paul is in his underwear and maybe having a romance with Amy now? They sleep in the same bed, and he makes her a rope bracelet. The romantic mood doesn’t last long because Paul handcuffs Amy so he can go to the store.
Jean sees Paul in town and jumps into the back of his truck to save her sister. She sneaks around back and peeks into windows. Jane grabs a big stick and knocks Paul out, steals his keys, and unlocks her sister. Amy doesn’t want to leave because she is worried about Adam hurting Paul’s son.

Jane tells her sister that Paul is lying to her and brainwashing her. Amy begs Jane to leave, and surprisingly, Jane leaves. She finds the sheriff and Tim Cook, and they rush to save Amy.
Amy realizes that she has been being lied to and ends up going with her sister, even though Paul promises her the world. He falls off a cliff while telling Amy he loves her.

Jane and Amy go back to their everyday lives, and Amy’s Salon is thriving. Amy is happy! But, she still wears her skidnapper’s bracelet, so is she REALLY happy?)
