Taylor Reynolds, a typical suburban mom, made some bad life decisions and was sentenced to three years in jail for a DUI and possession of drugs. After her release, Taylor fights the stigma of her past misdeeds, works to regain the support of her daughter Bianca and husband Jeff, and once again becomes a contributing member of society. But just when Taylor’s life is getting back on track, her former cellmate and career criminal, Meghan Flanagan, unexpectedly appears and invades Taylor’s world. Meghan has a devious plan. She wants Taylor to come clean and confess the truth behind her early release. Taylor will stop at nothing to keep her family safe from Meghan, even if it means stepping back into the world she ultimately escaped. Kelli Williams stars. (2017)

Thoughts

Taylor puts on makeup and complains about her crows’ feet. Her horny husband tries to get it on with her, but she shuts him down. Bianca is Taylor and Jeff’s sullen teenage daughter who likes to facetime with her boyfriend in her bra. The mother and daughter do not get along since Taylor has been away at prison for a DUI and possession of marijuana. Taylor calls Bianca an “Emotional Sniper.”

Taylor drops off her daughter at school and meets with her parole officer to signs her last papers to make her a free woman again. The first thing she does with her freedom is some shooting practice in the woods. Ummm, is this lady a murderer? Then she goes grocery shopping. As she is checking out, Taylor realizes she doesn’t have her wallet. A rough around the edges blonde with a butch haircut named Meghan pays cover Taylor’s tab. Meghan is an “old friend” that Taylor wants nothing to do with.

Meghan can’t take a hint and stops by Taylor’s house and invites herself in for family dinner. Tylor tells her husband Jeff that Meghan was her cellmate in jail. Meghan makes light dinner conversation, like what it is in prison! Bianca is very interested and asks what Meghan was convicted of; she refuses to answer.

Meghan’s friend won’t let her stay over, and she asks to stay the night. Taylor doesn’t want Meghan to stay and asks Jeff to take care of it. He chickens out and lets her stay. Meghan threatens to reveal the truth about what Taylor was like in prison if she doesn’t go along with it.

In the middle of the night, Meghan is caught eating from the fridge by Jeff. He asks her about jail, and she tells him that Taylor did something to get released early.

The next morning she peer pressures Bianca into day drinking with her. Neil, Bianca’s boyfriend, shows up, and Meghan blatantly comes onto him. She feels him up and steals his wallet. Taylor sees them together and loads her gun.

Bianca doesn’t show up for dinner, and her parents are concerned. Jeff drives around to look for her while Meghan and Taylor look in another part of town. When they find Bianca locked in Neil’s car, Meghan shoots out his window and then threatens to break his body. (At least she gives him options of which body part she is going to break!) Neil runs off screaming that they are all crazy.

Taylor calls the police when Meghan refuses to leave. She is surprised when the office handcuffs her and throws her in the back of his cop car. Taylor’s neighbors all come out and gawk at her. Then Meghan blackmails Taylor and forces her to become a drug mule for the prison.

Meghan hits on Jeff next and does some tricks with a bra. He asks if she is serious and isn’t into it. Meghan goes out on the town and brings a guy home from the bar. Jeff kicks him out, but for some reason, he lets Meghan stay. Taylor goes through Meghan’s things and finds a postcard.

Taylor smuggles drugs into the prison and is thrilled afterward. She has sex with Jeff and then smokes cigarettes. Taylor comes clean about what jail was really like. Meghan ran the place and made Taylor one of her cronies. To get an early release, Taylor had to turn on Meghan. Meghan is back for revenge.

Taylor tries to get help from her Parole Officer, Blake. He hears her out and then gets a phone call. Blake looks through Taylor’s things and finds more drugs in her purse. Taylor is put into custody, where she learns that she would get 25 to life for the crime. Blake is working with Meghan.

Realizing she has to take care of things herself, Taylor confronts Meghan and rips up her postcard. Then she heads to the jail and sets Donny up to be caught with the drugs. She tries to do the same to Blake, but he is onto her. Good thing she has a second recording device.

Meghan kidnaps Bianca and lures Taylor to the woods. Taylor brings her gun, but Meghan calmly grabs it from her and demands an apology. When that isn’t going to happen, Meghan jumps in the car and starts to drive away with Bianca in the trunk. Taylor shoots Meghan and hits her in the arm. That is a wrong move because Meghan backs her car into a lake and attempts to drown Bianca. Taylor saves her daughter from the sinking vehicle. Meghan is nowhere to be found.

The family goes back to everyday life until the doorbell rings, interrupting their dinner. Dun Dun Dun.
