Synopsis (via Lifetime)
When a disturbing overdose rocks her new town, a grieving but determined pharmacist tries to unravel the link between a growing teenage drug crisis and a mysterious grief website.

The movie begins with a guy getting some drugs and bringing them to his wife, who cries.
Laura is a recently widowed pharmacist/mother raising her volleyball-star daughter, Mazie. They recently moved to town, and Mazie is jaded ever since her dad died. Mazie has been chatting in a retro chat room with someone named Angel of Grief. Some druggie teens named Lizzie and Alex half-heartedly invite Mazie to a party.
The previous pharmacist had a drug problem and skipped town. Laura has taken her place and helps Widowed Ethan, who runs the local diner down the street and was the guy with the drugs earlier. The locals don’t like Laura or her business standards for filling bogus prescriptions.
Mazie goes to the party with Lizzie, who is actually Ethan’s daughter and is leaning on anti-anxiety medication to cope with her mother’s death. They party on the beach and bond over trauma. The party is cut short when a kid ODs on DRUGS!!!!! (Where is DARE when you need it?)
Laura talks to the police and tells them about the doctor who is writing fake prescriptions, and she yells at Mazie for going to a party and taking drugs. The next day, Laure finds the pharmacy unlocked and her assistant working at odd hours. Drugs have been stolen from pharmacies, and the kids in town are ODing. Laura finds hundreds of prescriptions signed off by Monica for opioids and written by Dr. Charelton, the town doctor.
Mazie spirals into a depression and continues to talk to Angel. Angel promises to send a package to help Mazie reconnect with her dad. Mazie asks Lizzie about the drugs Joe took at the party, and she admits that she gave him the harder stuff. Lizzie recruits Mazie to work at the dinner, but really helps sell drugs.
It was only a matter of time before someone broke into the pharmacy. Laura catches them in the act and recognizes the burglar was an addict. Ethan takes Laura home and opens up about his wife’s passing. Ironically, Laura’s husband became addicted to pain pills, and the addiction killed him. They agree to go to a support group for widowed spouses. I like them together; I hope he isn’t the drug pusher.
Mazie finds a prescription pad in Lizzie’s locked at work and promises to keep things a secret, as long as Lizzie shows her how to get more DRUGS! Lizzie says she flies under the radar because everyone thinks she is a little angel… could she be the angel chatter?
At a town hall in school, the parents are outraged. The cops don’t have much info and invite Laura to speak on what is going on. Dr. Charelton undercuts Laura’s credibility, saying she killed her husband via a drug OD.
The angel chatter sends drugs in the mail to Mazie and promises it will make her feel better. The bag looks like the one Ethan gave his wife at the beginning of the movie.
Dr. Charelton breaks into the house to frame Laura and Mazie. The police officer was Monica’s sister, who was dating Dr. Charelton. So the police know Dr. Charelton is a bad guy, but she needs more evidence against him that ties him to the drugs. Laura breaks into his office and finds the evidence, which is bold!
With Mazie in trouble with the law, they decide to sell the drugs they have and skip town. Mazie opens up about the kit she got from the Angel chatter, and it is concerning.
Laura and Ethan spend a lot of time together, and it is almost like they are blending families. Laura and Ethan hook up, and as he sleeps in the middle of the day, Laura snoops through Lizzie’s room and figures out Lizzie and Mazie have been selling drugs.
On the run, Mazie and Lizzie get into a fight and split up. It is too much for Mazie, who resorts to her kit and OD’s intentionally. She ends up in a coma, and Laura waits by her bedside.
With Lizzie in police custody, she tells Laura about the Angle of Grief website and the assisted suicide kits that Mazie used. Lizzie knows about them because her mother used them too. Laura tries to find out who Angel is and blames anyone she can think of, anyone but Ethan.
Ethan is OF COURSE the drug pusher, grinding up powder and selling them on the dark web. He knocks Laura out and ties her up before admitting to being the Angel of Grief. Ethan feels like he is helping people stop their suffering. He pours Laura a drugged soda, but she makes a run for it.
The police officer bursts into the diner and shoots Ethan just as he is about to stab Laura. The police take him away and arrest him.
Mazie comes out of her coma, and Lizzie moves in with Laura. They are all happy now. Yay!
STRAY Thought
This was actually pretty well done for a teen drama tackling a difficult subject that a teen might ACTUALLY watch.
I also low-key have always wanted to be a pharmacist, so this was interesting to me.
