Recap/Wine Thoughts
Alex seems to have it all. A loving daughter named Charlie, a handsome husband named Robert, and a STALKER! (Who is unnamed) Alex is also a good semeratin who helps an old lady going into cardiac arrest. A HOTTTTTT COP complements Alex on her lifesaving actions, and a news reporter wants to interview her. Alex is not interested in all the attention and prefers to stay anonymous. It’s too bad the videos taken by bystanders have gone viral. (Have I seen this before? Oh no, it is getting to that point.)
The press brings a true-crime podcaster/blogger who wants to talk about Rose Forester. (Alex’s old name when she lived in Texas.) Robert knows about Alex’s old life and checks with his wife to see if there is anything else he needs to know. She tells him no, and they move on. (Well, she doesn’t; she sneaks out of bed in the middle of the night, fishes the podcaster card out of the trash, and calls to find out what he wants.
The blogger/podcaster, Stuart, tells Alex that he knows who she is and he is going to say to the world that she killed her sister. Alex says she didn’t kill anyone while flashes of her and her sister fighting play in her mind. Alex’s mother and sister don’t have stellar reputations, but Alex sticks to her story and doesn’t kill anyone. She reluctantly agrees to meet with him and doesn’t tell Robert.
At the meeting, Stuart is even swarmyer in person. He compliments Alex on her appearance first thing and then calls her a liar. He accuses her of protecting her new life and daughter. He promises to make her the hero of her story and shows her his proof that she is faking her identity. Alex talks off the record and warns him not to mess with her family. Stuart throws out a sum of money to make him go away. 50K. (I’d probs pay it! Bye, Stuart!)
Alex almost wires the money but decides better of it. The memories of her sister continue to haunt Alex. They may have been fighting over a man. Alex sneaks out in the middle of the night to call Stuart again; this time, Robert hears the conversation. Alex offers 25K, and he tells her that she can pay her in sexual favors.
At the motel, Stuart receives a knock at the door, and when he opens it, someone shoots and kills him. This solves Alex’s dilemma. (Or does it?) A police detective arrives at Alex’s house and tells her about Stuart. There was evidence at the crime scene that led straight to Alex. (Since he was working on a story about her and everything.) Alex claims to know nothing about Stuart.
The news reporter who blew Alex’s cover is also working on the case and piecing things together. She gets a transcript of Stuart’s cellphone calls and knows about Alex’s past. The reporter is killed next, and someone strangles her from her back seat. (CLASSIC!)
Alex comes clean to Robert and tells him that her secrets will make her look even more guilty. Robert begs his wife to trust him. (This is Lifetime, so she really shouldn’t.) Alex later has a nightmare. They start arguing in front of their child, and Alex stabs Robert like she stabbed her sister… perhaps?
Finally, we get a flashback to the night Alex/Rose ran away from her family. Her sister, Ashley’s husband, Justin, used Ashley to get closer to his true love Rose/Alex. Ashley found out about her husband’s feelings and thought Rose/Alex was sleeping with her husband. Ashley came at Rose/Alex with a knife, and there was a struggle. Ashley died as Rose/Alex watched. She ran away and never looked back. Alex worries that Justin has found her and is returning to claim her as his own. Robert wants to defend Alex, but she tells him they must run and hide.
Robert and Alex tell their daughter they are taking a fun trip to Niagra Falls. While Robert takes care of a few things at work, Alex and Charlie pack. Robert thinks someone followed him home and wants to leave ASAP. He takes out the trash and sees the shadow of a man with a gun. They brawl in the front yard, and Robert ends up with a concussion. Alex rushes outside, grabs the gun, and scares off the attacker. She calls after him and is sure it is Justin.
At the hospital, Alex gets a text from whoever is after her telling her not to talk to the police. Alex is vague when talking with the detective, who knows Alex is Rose Forster and a suspect in her sister’s death. The detective promises to keep Charlie and Robert safe and has to take Alex to the station since there is a warrant for Alex’s arrest. Boldly, Alex makes a run for it and loses the detective.
While Alex flees, Charlie looks for her mother and is kidnapped. (So much for the detective keeping her safe!)
Alex books a place at a motel and calls Robert to let him know she is safe. Robert tells her that Charlie is missing, and Alex is convinced Justin has kidnapped her daughter!
Justin finally shows his face, takes Charlie to a house, and locks her in a child’s bedroom. (Made just for her?) She smartly tries to escape, but all the doors and windows are locked. Justin brings Charlie to meet her Grandma Marnie. (AKA Alex’s mother!) She has orchestrated the entire thing and tells Charlie about her mother and sister. Grandma Marnie tells Charlie she will love her eventually.
Justin next finds Alex and drives her to Granda Marnie, admitting to killing everyone at her bidding. Little does he know that
Robert is trailing them.
Alex/Rose, and her mother finally have their confrontation. It is way more subdued than I was expecting. Charlie sneaks out of her room by unpicking the lock with a plastic spoon. Robert busts Charlie out, setting off the alarm.
Grandma Marnie grabs Alex/Rose and holds her at gunpoint. Alex/Rose stomps on her mother’s foot and gets the gun while Robert calls the cops.
Alex is ready to put everything behind her. She pleads guilty to her sister’s murder and gets 200 hours of community service and three years probation.
George, Alex, and Charlie go for a bike ride! The End!

That supposed reporter (stuart?) was so gross. He actually made my skin crawl. He deserved to die. He was so creepy. Then way he said good bye was just plain icky.
This movie is perfect example of good deeds never going unpunished.
The actress needs to get the thing removed from her face. I cant stop looking at it when shes on the various lmn movies she’s been in. There’s another chick who is in a lot of lmn movies that has an even worse thing on her face. Maybe they figure that they’ve gotten many jobs even with those things.? But maybe she could get better jobs without it?
