Synopsis (via Lifetime)

Ashley Mackenzie (Bristow) has always been the preeminent ‘Christmas queen’ in town. From making handcrafted decorations for the office to hosting the town’s annual Christmas sweater competition, she loves everything about the holiday… that is, until she meets her match in Ben Williams (Renaud). Ben is the devilishly handsome new guy in town who loves Christmas just as much as she does — and unwittingly begins to steal her thunder. But as Ashley begins to feel like Ben is taking Christmas away from her, she is reminded of the true spirit of the holiday, and she joins forces with him to make this Christmas even more meaningful.

Recap/Wine Thoughts

Ashley is a Christmas cookie freak who goes around town collecting treats and baking them with her family. She strives for Christmas perfection.

Her actual profession is working in a department store, and she is up for the CEO position, on her way to talk to the current CEO, Mr. Collins, she runs into a handsome man named Ben and goes all googley eyes.

Ben turns out to be her brother’s friend and the son of the CEO, Mr. Collins. Ashley is worried that Ben will be up for the position she has had her eyes on. She starts to look for other jobs while working with Ben at the store. They do not share the same vision. He is all about efficiency, and she is more about experience and thoughtfulness.

Ben and Ashley can’t even pick out a tree or decorate without arguing. They spend most of the movie bickering, but eventually, Ben gets the COO position because of a Virtual Christmas Card campaign that goes well.

Ashley overhears Ben talking to his dad about the COO position and feels betrayed. She asks her friend, Andy, to quit for her and pack up her office. Ashley sucks.

To get back on Ashley’s good side, Ben gets his mother’s cookie recipe, and the plan backfires. He wins the town cookie competition, and Ashely is devastated. She cries to her father about people having their special thing, and Christmas was hers, but not anymore.

Ben asks Ashey’s brother and friend why Ashley hates him, and they are like… dude. You took her job. Ben rushes to tell Ashley that he wants her to be co-COO, but she didn’t hear that part.

Ashley creates a Santa’s village that helps needy kids, and Ben puts a donation link on the webpage. It is an example of how they can work together! Then there is an emergency at the store, the virtual Christmas card has gone viral, and the store sells out of inventory.

Ben and his father clear things up with Ashley, and she apologizes for being a jerk. The families party together and celebrate Christmas together. Ben takes Ashley outside for a talk.

Outside on the front steps, Ben tells her the video has more than one million views. He asks her to stay and help him run the shopping center as a horse-drawn carriage picks them up for a date. Two Co-COO on a horse-drawn carriage sleigh together. Ashley decides to deliver the gifts to the children like Santa!

Ben asks Ashley if he can be the King to her Queen of Santa. She tells him sure and is impressed when his ugly Christmas sweater lights up and says her name.

They drink hot chocolate and kiss in front of their family as Christmas lights turn on. Ashley is very impressed! I am very bored.

  1. I LOVE Brittany Bristow and watch everything she is in. Having said that, this movie is probably the worst Christmas movie I have ever seen. The writing was terrible with plots that made no sense and were very condescending to Ashley (Brittany). And I have never seen such a card board character like Oliver Renaud. He was AWFUL. He was not acting at all and there was absolutely no chemistry between him (Ben) and Ashley. Timothy Kuryak should never be allowed to write again and Olivier Renaud should never be allowed to pretend to act again. For what she had to work with Brittany was great. Very disappointing movie.

  2. Hola!
