Synopsis (via Lifetime)

Eden moves to Nashville and gets swept up in a whirlwind romance with Jax, the son of wealthy power player in the country music scene, but things take a turn when other women turn up dead and dark family secrets are unearthed. Sarah Zanotti, and Nick Puya star (2025)

Recap/Wine Thoughts

A country music star is attacked in her Nashville home. We see her fight for her Life before abruptly cutting to two days earlier.

Eden Perry is a fundraising director who has just moved to Nashville. She works for a fancy company run by Burt Callahan. Lily shows Eden around the office. Eden meets Burt’s handsome son, Jax, who is president of the record label. They are all impressed with Eden’s ideas for working with local charities and artists.

Jax takes Eden out for BBQ (Nashville has been best, according to him, but I’m partial to Memphis BBQ myself). Then they watch a Lionel concert, which feels pretty dated. The conversation is not work-related. It’s a warm welcome! Eden also receives a welcome basket, including a work phone and a company credit card. (Oh, and someone breaks into her house on the first night.)

Unphased, Eden continues to wear her hair back in a bun and talk to the artist about partnering with charities that matter to them. She tries to pair Savannah with a domestic violence organization, but Savannah passes.

At a work dinner, Burt and Jax seem a bit too hands-on.

Savannah invites Eden over, and it is the night of the attack. Eden finds Savannah stabbed on the floor, and she warns Eden that she is in danger. The attacker is still home, and there is a scuffle. Eden gets away, but Shavannah dies. Eden uses the incident to go against Shavannah’s wishes and works with the domestic violence organization.

Someone tries to break into Eden’s house again. Jax is just two minutes away. Jax offers Eden a place to stay until the police can investigate more. Something is off. Eden searches the house and thinks they should have the charity event at home. The party is a success.

Jax and Eden totally hook up and spend the night together. Eden hears a crash in the middle of the night and is surprised to see Jax’s mother looking through old pictures. The mother seems confused. Jax takes her back to bed and explains that she has dementia. They keep her locked in her room.

The lady from the women’s shelter stops Eden while she is on a run and thinks Jax killed Savannah. Savannah was in a relationship with Jax, and when things turned abusive, Savannah went to the women’s shelter. Eden asks why they didn’t tell the police, and she says the family runs the town.

Eden is almost run off the road, but Jax shows up to help. He has a tracker on the car because it is a company car. Eden asks about what she learned, and Jax claims Savannah was obsessed with him. Eden looks through his phone and finds incriminating messages.

Eden breaks into the mother’s room and is determined to get answers. The mother is tranquilized and doesn’t have dementia. She is Burt’s prisoner.

Speaking of Burt! He has a gash on his side from the night he killed Savannah and attacked Eden. He was protecting his family legacy. Eden tries to record Burts confession, but he catches her and tries to choke her out. Eden knocks him out with a Jade rock and is free. She runs out of the house but triggers the house alarm.

Jax finds Eden in the barn and tries to convince her that he is a good guy. He gaslights her and makes her feel like she is crazy. Eventually, he admits everything, and Eden knees him in the balls.

The men chase after Eden, but she calls the police. They try to charm the police but are caught. They appear to face no repercussions and are back doing highly public charity events without Eden. That is until Eden and the mother take over the presentation. They give a voice to the voiceless.

Stray Thoughts

Worthy subject matter. Boringly delivered.

  1. Loved the message and the movie, but the synopsis was kind of misleading. It mentions “other women” were found dead, implying more than one. When only one woman (Savannah) was killed.

  2. Love your reviews! Just wondering about calling out the complete insanity of hosting an event at your home while you are keeping someone locked up? Plus – On discovering Savanah – who walks into a home – without a cell phone in hand these days? The entire movie felt like it was made in a weekend!
