Synopsis (via Lifetime)

Starring Linda Blair and Jerome Ehlers. Hairdresser Leonie Stevens tries to break free from romantic entanglements with a new lover after discovering that he might be a serial murderer.

Thoughts

Arden takes care of her sick daughter in the middle of the night. A burglar breaks into the house and holds a knife to her neck. Then, he ties her up and tapes her mouth shut, leaving her helpless. The burglar takes his time stealing some photos but eventually leaves. Arden’s daughter unties her mother, and they call the police.

A lady detective comes the next morning and informs Arden that this is a string of break-ins in the neighborhood. She tells Arden to make sure no one ever does this to her again and learn some self-defense.

Arden’s sister Gwen is also a cop and arrives to comfort her sister. She, too, tells her to take a self-defense class and books a class online with a hunky instructor named Logan. Logan is intense. He just screams at Arden until she defends herself. How much did she pay for this class?

A training montage happens. Thank God. Arden runs through the woods, does some Tai Chi, boxing, and kicks stuff. She tells Logan that he is mean, but they have a good relationship now. Logan has a wife who died a few years ago. She looks a lot like Arden.

Arden works in the woods and knows nature very well. Logan stops by, and they end up going on a date. She has him over to the house, and Logan is very interested in her alarm system. They drink wine, and Logan overshares about his wife’s death. A random psycho killer murdered her. Arden is very uncomfortable with the conversation. They are bonded now and almost kiss. Logan zip ties her hands and throws her in his trunk. Is it an exercise?

Logan lets her out of the trunk and tells her that he is just trying to help her. Arden tells him he is psychotic and calls the cops. He shows the police a waiver that Arden signed, allowing him to take extreme measures for training. Then Logan goes to his house and has a serial killer wall with Arden photos all over the place. He stalks her from afar. Listening to phone calls and taking a picture with a telephoto lens. Logan finds the original burglar stalking Arden. He hires him to plant drugs in her house and break in again.

This time Arden is ready, and she beats the crap out of him. Then Logan kills him after he has what he needs.

When Arden gets into the car without checking the back seat, Logan grabs her and threatens her. Arden calls the police and moves in with her sister until the police can find him.

Logan kidnaps Emma, and Arden runs around for 30 mins trying to find her daughter. Logan says it is a test because he loves her. Then he chases her around with a gun, shooting randomly. Arden leads him into the woods and uses her knowledge of nature to lure Logan to a place with many branches. She beats the crap out of him and is then saved by the lady detective—the sister, who is also a cop, is useless.
