Synopsis (via BET)

Every year the three Miles sisters, Jasmine, Kira, and Tisha, battle each other for a chance to win the neighborhood Christmas Church Cook-Off competition. But when Aaliyah, the vivacious social media influencer, enters the competition, the sisters must choose to rise together, or fall divided.

Recap/Wine Thoughts

The movie begins on Dec 20th at a fancy holiday party. It is a Christmas Cook-off hosted by sisters Kara (The mature one), Tisha (The funny one), and Jasmine (who just moved back from LA.) Their mother passed away this year, and it is the first holiday without her. There is one rule NO CBD IN THE FOOD?!?!? Very random.

Damon, Jasmine’s ex-boyfriend, shows up because he hears she is back in town. He is looking for an apology from her for ghosting him and moving to LA. Jasmine tells him that she will NOT apologize for choosing herself. She tells him to move on because she already has.

The sisters argue because they told Damon to come. They were concerned when Jasmine came back with no explanation. Jasmine isn’t the only one who has moved to town. Social media influencer Aaliyah moves in next door. She is extra in the best (but maybe worst) way! Her fans are called “The Peaches.”

Aaliyah invites herself over and wants to cover the cook-off on her social media. Aaliyah has hunks following her around, and she introduces her friend Curtis, who is into Kira. He asks her out on a date, and she declines. (Because she thinks he is just a hunk, he owns his own moving business.)

Trisha’s son, Trey, comes home from college and is surprised to see his fave influencer is hanging with his mom and aunties.

Aaliyah posts on social media asking for their best recipes. Jasmine sees the post and is worried that they will lose and ruin their mother’s legacy. Jasmine needs comforting and facetimes Damon. They make up, and she invites him to the cook-off!

On Instagram Live, Aaliyah makes fired Okra and has many, many, food orgasms. Then she presents the food to the judges and records their reactions with her phone.

Curtis becomes a sponsor of the event, and Kira realizes that she judges a book by his hunky cover. Kira apologizes for being so rude when they first met. He agrees to start over.

Jasmine opens up to Damon and tells him that she had to move to LA to escape everything at home. He tells her that she knew she would come back to them because they are soul mates.

Aaliyah explains how difficult it is to be an influencer and always create content. Tisha tells her to make sure to take time for herself. They all seem to be getting along well!

Tisha is up next for the cook-off with her baked goods. When Aaliyah comes over and asks to take a break, Tisha jumps at the chance. They have coffee and talk about their dreams. Tisha wants to go back to college and recently got accepted into a university. They might have a romantic connection?

Damon proposes to Jasmine, and the family celebrates with a bottle of champagne. Trey finds a box from his grandma addressed to her daughters. It is a box filled with recipes.

A cooking montage happens, and it is about freaking time! The sisters dance around the kitchen and make the main course for the competition.

Both teams end up winning because they tie. The sisters are going to start a scholarship for people who want to follow their dreams. They all take pictures for social media.

Curtis and Kira share a Christmas kiss, and the movie flashes a year later on Thanksgiving.

Everyone is very happy and thankful.
